About

I am a multifaceted individual who defies easy categorization: an engineer, an artist, a daughter of an immigrant, a person of color, queer, an intellect, a skeptic—and yes, even a beauty queen.

Born in South Korea, I moved to the United States at the age of four and spent most of my life on the East Coast. Growing up, I navigated the complexities of being both Korean and American, a duality that deeply shaped my perspective.

Academically, I pursued biomedical engineering at the University of Rochester and mechanical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology. Along the way, I discovered my passion for biomimicry and nature-inspired design—a perfect blend of my love for science, art, and the natural world.

My inspirations are as eclectic as I am. A lifelong fan of death metal, I draw creative energy from the genre's intensity and collect vintage art books and records, which fuel my artistic practice.

Versatility defines me. I am never just one thing. I embody contradictions, embrace diversity, and live at the intersections of art, science, and identity. I am everything.
